a mahjong-inspired table on the north shore

Last week, we got to play a little tabletop dress up in support of the Women’s Auxiliary Board for the Rush Memorial NS Cook’s Home Tour. Designers, stylists, florists, and homeowners opened their doors across the North Shore, creating vignettes throughout some beautiful homes.

For our table, we brought a little mahjong inspiration to the backyard.

We wanted the table to feel colorful, playful, and a little chaotic, leaning into pattern, color, and texture. Lola Valentina Designs linens gave us the pattern play we were looking for, while The Flower House florals were the perfect finishing touch.

Pink-on-pink Ginori plateware played well with pops of chartreuse throughout the table. Handmade fringe lampshades added another layer of texture, while tassel place cards brought in a playful handmade detail.

The finished table was colorful and collected, with plenty of little details to discover.
