A Surprise Baby Shower for Diane
“Where the Wild Things Are” Picnic at Fort Sheridan
There’s nothing we love more than celebrating one of our own, and this month our elliestyled team gathered at Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve to surprise our talented event designer, Diane, with a baby shower she’ll never forget.
What she thought was a “site visit for a client proposal” turned out to be a heartfelt afternoon surrounded by her team, family, and a beautifully styled picnic inspired by Where the Wild Things Are
We set the scene with our brand new floor table rentals, creating a cozy fall picnic setup that felt equal parts playful and refined. The table was dressed with teak chargers, wood cake stands, Athenian flatware, yellow goblets, and Charlie floor cushions and pillows—a soft, inviting palette that perfectly matched the golden fall light.
Florals from The Flower House and Farm added natural whimsy to the setting, overflowing with texture and charm. The picnic spread featured fresh, seasonal bites from Publican Quality Bread, one of Diane’s favorite Chicago spots—making the day feel even more personal and special.
The day couldn’t have been more perfect. We shared pastries, stories, and so much laughter as we celebrated Diane and her growing family. Every detail, from the whimsical floral arrangements to the custom cookies by Peace.Love.Cookies—including a sweet “Big Brother Rocco” cookie—captured the joy and excitement of the day.
A special thank-you to Morgan at Turning Leaf Photography for capturing every moment so beautifully—including some sweet family portraits of Diane’s crew that we know she’ll treasure forever.
This day was a reminder of why we love what we do—creating thoughtful, meaningful experiences that bring people together. Congratulations, Diane! We can’t wait to meet your newest little wild thing. 💛
