An Evening of Mole, Mezcal & Magic at Atelier
We recently had the joy of partnering with @el.molcajete.sauces for an intimate mole cooking class and dinner party hosted at @atelierbyelliestyled. Chef Ernesto led us through the experience with warmth, expertise, and a hands-on approach, teaching us how to create mole verde entirely from scratch—using only locally sourced, organic ingredients.
As the scent of roasted tomatillos and herbs filled the studio, we sipped on smoky mezcal margaritas (or a zero-proof hibiscus version for those going spirit-free). Everyone took a turn attempting homemade tortillas—let’s just say it’s much trickier than it looks! We also learned to prepare “Mexican risotto,” a bright and flavorful cilantro rice that perfectly complemented our meal.
Once everything was ready, we sat down at a fun, colorful, candlelit table to enjoy the fruits of our labor. The setting was cozy and vibrant, and the best part? Sharing the meal with new friends, swapping stories, and savoring the experience we created together.
Nights like these remind us that food is more than just nourishment—it’s community, culture, and connection. We’re so grateful to Chef Ernesto and El Molcajete for sharing their gifts with us.
