A Bloom-Filled Birthday at Elawa Farm

Planning an unforgettable birthday celebration? Our recent event at Elawa Farm in Lake Forest, Illinois, captured everything we love about hosting stylish, garden-inspired gatherings on the North Shore.

Our client came to us with a clear vision: tables decked with gobs of florals, elegant candlelight, and personalized touches to make every guest feel special. Set inside the warm, rustic barn at Elawa Farm, we transformed the long tables into lush garden-inspired scapes brimming with seasonal blooms in soft pinks, bright corals, and fresh greens. Layered vintage plates and floral napkins added charm, while natural woven chargers grounded each setting with texture.

One of our favorite details? The strawberry jam jars at each place setting. These weren’t just sweet favors—they doubled as place cards, each one tied with delicate ribbon and sprigs of dried florals, labeled with guests' names to guide them to their seats. A thoughtful, beautiful touch that was as memorable as it was practical.

Guests sipped on signature Lilac French 75s and mingled around a cozy outdoor bar setup, nestled near the garden path and surrounded by the scent of blooming lilacs. Strawberries in woven baskets and vintage details rounded out the fresh, farmhouse feel.

Every detail felt personal, intentional, and oh-so-pretty—just the way we like it.
